Why is it so hard to admit that sometimes life sucks? Life isn’t perfect. Not for me, not for you and probably not for the person in your Facebook feed that appears to have the perfect car, perfect kids….perfect life.
Although we tell ourselves not to, we continue to compare ourselves to others. Or…we mentally beat ourselves up for not having a business as successful as theirs, or as many twitter followers as they do, or…or…or…
If you saw my interview this week with Jennifer Boykin, you probably heard her say — “Don’t compare your insides to my outsides.”
I love this quote!
You never know what someone else has gone through to get to where they are today. You also have no idea if they’re really as happy, successful, or grateful as they appear on the outside.
Here’s a great example…in this photo it appears that I’m tall and have long, slim legs. Reality…I’m 5’4″ and haven’t really been “slim” since high school.
Stop comparing yourself to others.
A better use of mental power is to concentrate only on getting YOU the life you want — not the life you think someone else has.
The grass may be greener on the other side, but you’ll have to mow it more. You know what I mean!
Focus on YOU. Focus on YOUR goals. Focus on making YOU happy.
